Laura describes using two-fold tinfoil slings as “helper handles”or lifters for using the pan-in-pot in cooking technique and that works fine, however I’ve found something I think works even better.
I use the Fox Run Silicone Turkey Lifter (called Poultry Lifter on the box) and it works beautifully It’s not cheap, but highly recommended and well-worth purchasing if you are doing pan-in-pot pressure cooking. It’s easier than folding foil and more foolproof than the foil lifters. And of course it can be used not only for pan-in-pot cooking but when actually roasting poultry or a roast in the oven.
